Black Dog Ride to Darwin - raising funds and awareness to fight the depression and suicide.

By Terri Barclay

Depression is something that we have trouble talking about yet it affects so many of us.

This cause is particularly close to my heart with the loss of my Godson, Cameron, through suicide in 2014.

The photograph I have uploaded is of myself and Cameron.

For the last two years I have ridden on the Qld Black Dog ride with Cameron's photograph on my bike, I will be riding with his photograph again this year, keeping his memory close as we ride to Townsville talking to people along the way and raising awareness and showing others that this is a topic that we can and should discuss.

So many of us have been touched by this terrible disease and yet we find it so very hard to talk about. We aim to help change that.

I have not been fundraising this year as I was unsure that I would make this trip due to arthritis which has been particularly bad this year. I am still not certain that I will be able to complete the entire trip, but I will to my best because I believe in this cause passionately.

Any assistance you can give is greatly appreciated.
