David n Sandra

By David and Sandra Helkin Tas 2017

We are taking part in the Black Dog Ride to Tasmania 2017 suicide prevention campaign. We are joining hundreds of fellow riders on the road to Hobart, and raising awareness of and funds to train defence and emergency workers in Mental Health First Aid. This is a cause that is close to our hearts. 8 Australians die by suicide every day, defence and emergency workers have a higher risk of mental illness and suicide than many others because of the nature of their work. By raising awareness of this issue on our journey with Black Dog Ride, and by raising funds to train these heroes in Mental Health First Aid, we will empower communities with knowledge around mental health, encourage people to seek support, and help prevent the tragedy of suicide.  We would welcome any contribution, great or small, that you could make to our fundraising page:  https://blackdogride.giveeasy.org/campaigns/david-n-sandra-2                                                                                                                                                         All donations are tax deductible and a receipt is emailed to you immediately.  Thank you for your support of this life saving cause.

Enjoy your ride for a very worthwhile cause thanks for raising awareness for depression. I have personally been affected by the condition and now know how important it is to seek help and to acknowledge it 's debilitating affects. May your ride bring much joy!
