Thanks all who donated, we had a great week, happy, sad, angry, and we met some great people along the way. People's stories can be quite emotional but I applaud them for telling them and I do believe telling helps the healing process. Jay's children Cooper and Mia did a small leg of the ride with us so are now officially part of the Black Dog family, they loved it, thanks Wayne and Macca. We raised some much needed funds for Lifeline and Mental Health First Aid and also got some conversations started, so all round a successful week,
Col and I got involved in the Black Dog Ride in 2014 after losing our son, Jay, in 2012. We found the ride helped us heal a little bit and we were happy to help raise some funds for Lifeline and MHFA. We have decided to again help with fundraising and take part in the awareness program with the Black Dog Ride in October. We were both overwhelmed with the support we received in the past two programs and would like to again add our voices to the cause. Jay lives on through us and his three children now and so suicide prevention is something we will support for as long as we can.
